Dhanekula Institute of Engineering & Technology Vijayawada and NVIDIA has jointly established Andhra Pradesh first NVIDIA AI Technology Centre to accelerate research on Artificial Intelligence and its commercial adoption. An inauguration was held by Shri S Suresh Kumar IAS, Principal Secretary, Skill development and Training, Andhra Pradesh on Decemeber 4th December 2023 in the presence of Director D.K.R.K Ravi Prasad, Principal Dr Kadiyala Ravi , Deans and Head of the Departments.
Dhanekula Institute of Engineering & Technology Vijayawada has been sanctioned Jetson Orin Nano™ to the highest performance Jetson AGX Orin™ dedicated to AI research being undertaken at the institute. The institute is also in the process of procuring more such servers over the coming months. The NVIDIA AI Technology Centre will accelerate research for faculty working in various areas of AI at DIET VIJAYAWADA, and will focus on advancing AI research in the areas of Agriculture and Smart Cities besides Language Understanding. The projects that would be taken up include object detection, smart attendance, face recognition, increasing crop yield using AI algorithms and applying AI-based solutions to Drones.
Next-gen products to life with the world’s most powerful AI computers for energy-efficient autonomous machines. Powered by Generative AI at the edge, NVIDIA Metropolis and Isaac Platforms, Jetson offers scalable software, modern AI stack, flexible micro services and APIs, production-ready ROS packages and application-specific AI workflow at your fingertips. NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ modules give you up to 275 trillion operations per second (TOPS) and 8X the performance of the last generation for multiple concurrent AI inference pipelines, plus high-speed interface support for multiple sensors. With seven different modules based on the same architecture–from the entry-level Jetson Orin Nano™ to the highest performance Jetson AGX Orin™—this is the ideal family for a new age of robotics.
The NVIDIA AI laboratory is setup with the primary goal to solve real-time problems by developing various projects using state-of-the-art NVIDIA technologies.
Objectives
- To encourage students to utilize the NVIDIA Jetsonkits in the implementation of their academic projects.
- To gain skill in latest cutting edge technologies and apply to various real world applications.
